Global hiring is a tough challenge. With our hiring guide, you can see all possibilities you have for hiring a remote worker based in France.
Add hiring optionDeel is a payment solution and management software for remote teams that are planning to onboard remote employees in the form of contractors. The issue that Deel solves here is establishing legally compliant contracts with everyone and running payroll, making sure that everyone gets paid on time, no matter where they are.
Compared to running your own payroll, this obviously comes at a cost. However, the cost is substantially lower than a EOR (employer of record) solution and starting at just $50/month.
Plane takes care of payroll, benefits, and compliance for US-based companies hiring remote employees and contractors internationally. Onboard and pay employees in 160+ countries without having to set up local entities. Plane handles employment paperwork, tax withholding, and more, with contracts that support a streamlined, two-step IP transfer. If you’re hiring contractors instead, you can use Plane to onboard and pay contractors in 240+ countries, with no markup fees. Payments are sent directly to contractors’ bank accounts, so that they don’t need to use an e-wallet. The employee plan has a flat fee starting from $299/month/employee, and the contractor plan has a flat fee of $29/month/contractor.
Papaya is a leading employer of record (or EOR) service, as well as contractor management system, that allows you to hire employees worldwide and manage contracting agreement all in one place.
With a pricing point starting at $770 flat per employee and month, it's on the cheaper side of global payroll services. In return for that, Papaya provides employees with tax filing, cross-border payments, compliance checks and more.
The legally compliant way to hire employees in any country of the world is to set up a sub-corporation in said country. Depending on the country, this is easier said than done and often needs local representation. It's therefore only realistic to do if you are planning on quickly hiring a larger team in a specific country or are already working with a big workforce in a specifc country.
Shield GEO is an international employer of record (or EOR) allowing you to use their services to hire remote employees in their countries of operation. Shield GEO is one of the services that has the widest coverage of operation, making it possible to hire employees in almost any country in the world.
Additionally to EOR services, Shield GEO also offers tax, compliance and payroll consultations.
The catch-all solution to hiring remote workers is to do so as independent contractors. ICA (Independent Contractor Agreements) are usually simple and short contracts that are legally compliant in some form or another in any country of the world.
The important distinction here is that independent contractors are not legally employed as employees. In their respective jurisdictions, your employees may therefore not be legally protected under employment laws, but are self-employed.
Remote owns and operates a full-stack global infrastructure in each country, which include Remote's legal entities and a trusted network of local payroll providers, labor law attorneys and HR specialists.
For a fee, Remote can act as an "Employer of Record" or EOR to legally employe people in each country and saving you the cost of running your own legal entity.
Parakar is a EOR service offering services for employees and freelancers in central and western europe, namely Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, France and Spain. As such, they are a more local alternative without a fixed pricing regime. Custom solutions are likely possible.
