Where work happens
Slack has changed the game for team communication, but when it comes to remote work, it has some crucial design flaws. How can you overcome them?
In the remote work space, Slack is both the most loved and disliked product.
Slack is a modern interpretation of a chat room. With different channels, keywords and support for a wide range of formatting options and attachment, it makes communicating with others extremely smooth and easy.
It's sometimes disliked by remote workers for it's feel of urgency. A new chat message triggers a range of notification–sounds, icon changes, push notifications, ... that aren't excactly subtle. It can often drag you right out of deep work, or simply send you a push notification at 1am at night.
